Pretentious Opinions

There is nothing I detest more in this world than pretentious opinions masquerading as gentle and compassionate eloquence. It is like being given an apple, only to find out later it is sour. I rather that person had stuck a knife into my chest so that I may learn his true emotional countenance. I would have done the same thing to him; in fact, I would have sharpen my knife first so that when I deliver my judgment, it will strike him in the most fatal part. We die by the opinions of others in order to live again. A wounded soul can only arouse pity in others and in himself. Thus, it is better to die than to live in humiliation.
